About Us and Our Berners....
Watson's Windy Acre Berners is located on over 28 acres of wheat farm with jack rabbits, wild cottontails and our dogs in the desert of SE Washington outside of Kennewick. We have four grown children and many volunteers helping us to socialize the puppies before they go to your home.
We desire to improve the breed through doing multiple health screens on our dogs and by providing the best care and atmosphere possible for our dogs and puppies. Our puppies are birthed and raised their first 6 weeks in our family room in our home. They are introduced to some of our other dogs, our cats and both adults and children to help get them ready for your home and family. We believe that Bernese Mountain Dogs are the very best family dog choice today!
We purchased our first Berner (Bentley) in 2007. Since then, we have carefully researched and had many discussions with breeders that led us to bring some wonderful dogs into our family and kennel. We imported Avril from Wzgorze Agisa Kennel in Poland. Both of her parents and grandparents were champions in Europe. She also has world champions in her line. We imported Fiesta De Neboa De Meigas (Livvy) from Dianna Martinez Ruiz in Spain. She too has many champions in her line. We imported Cascade Mountain Kennel’s Gostislav (Gus-Gus) from a great breeder in B.C Canada.
Our pups all came from breeders who made sure their sires and dams hips were health certified and that their dogs conformed to the breed's standards. We have our dogs hips and elbows evaluated by OFA and do genetic testing for Von Willebrand Disease and Degenerative Myelopathy. We are happy to say that none of our dogs have Von Willebrand and none of our dogs suffer from DM. We don’t breed any dogs who fail to have a passing grade on their hips / elbows. Having a dog who's parents had their hips and elbows pass doesn't completely guarantee your dog won't have issues, but it tips the odds in your favor (see our link under the "About Berners" tab).
All of the dogs we breed are registered with the American Kennel Club. We sell our puppies with an AKC partial registration only (unless you are an established breeder). They are up to date on all vaccinations, deworming, and have been examined by a licensed Veterinarian prior to being placed. All of our pups come with a one year health guarantee, vet health record, first shots and a sample of what they have been eating to help make the transition from our family to yours a bit easier. We also microchip and offer our help throughout the life of your pet. We are committed to breeding happy and healthy puppies while being there for their families when questions arise!
